Soda Firing - always fun in the COLD

As soda fires are my favorite, I have decided to fire most of this semesters work in the soda fire. Here are just a few shots of the setup. The kiln is just about to reach cone 10 as I post this.

Here is a sneak peak to a fun, new sake jar that I recently made. I hope the soda firing does it well.

Bricking up the kiln door...

Finally, the kiln is is closed.

Small Lidded Vessel

Here are some small lidded vessels. They work great for as a ceramic ring case. They are made from fine porcelain and are soda fired.

Tear-Drop Vases

These are some elegant tear-drop vases that I made. They are soda fired and made from a fine porcelain.

HOT CHOCOLATE!!!!!

As I said in an earlier post, I LOVE hot chocolate! Thus, the more hot chocolate you can fit in a mug, the better. That was the "inspiration" behind these mugs. Bigger is better! And, of course, they are soda fired. Only the best for the best.

Cups!

Here are some fun cups that I made. They are soda fired

Cup Sets

I made a lot of sets of ergonomic cups this semester. Notice that they are all very ergonomic and are made to comfortably made to fit a hand. These are all soda fired.

Some more Sake Jars

Here are some more sake jars that I threw.

Lots of Mugs

Over the last semester, I have made many new mugs. Every one of these is nice, unique, and soda fired.
