Best Christmas Ever!

The best gifts are those that come from the heart.  All I have to say is this is the best gift ever from my talented husband.  Art is something that is expression to me and it is so nice to have someone that cares and has talent to show it off. Thanks for the site honey!

Mixed Media Mirror

This is a mixed media piece that I made with ceramics, screen printing, and a mirror. The cute little girl is my niece.

I got the great opportunity to have some fun with my sister's kids at the studio! I taught them a little about pottery, and they each threw a piece of pottery. It was a blast! And can I just say, my niece and nephew are GOOD at ceramics!

Chalk Art Festival 2009

So, it was back to Salt Lake City to help Gina Jrel do the Chalk Art Festival once again. However, this time I was already living in Salt Lake City, so a slurpie was not my incentive to help this tome (although my husband DID bring me one while I was helping... anyways...). Gina was as good as always and was once again a featured artist.

My husband decided to come for a while and help. As you can see, he is an engineer.... not an artist... so we just had him blend the border colors. He did this job a little too well, and after a while said that his fingers were bleeding. Ya, you guessed it, they were raw and bloody from blending too hard. Oh well, he will learn, I think...

Oh yes, and he was "chalked" by Gina....

Always great when your family shows up to an event. This is my oldest sister and her two kids. I was lucky, because she was in town for the Miss Utah pageant that weekend. We went with her to one of the events later that night.
